1. Basic Mensuration Conventions and B6 Tariff
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- understand and apply the conventions for measuring DBH;
- understand and apply the conventions for measuring total or timber height of standing trees;
- carry out an B6 abbreviated tariff;
- perform the following calculations that are covered in Forest Mensuration:
- stand top height;
- tariff number;
- volume per hectare;
- total volume;
- trees per hectare;
- total number of trees;
- average volume per tree;

2. Practical Photogrammetry
At the end of this course you will be able to:
- understand what photogrammetry is and it’s development
- Understand some of the basic terminology used.
- understand the basic uses of photogrammetry
- Understand the process from data collection to orthomosaic
- understand the basics of drone, terminology and regulations (UK)
- work with some of the basic outputs in a GIS system
- understand and specify requirements for the production of various data sets from suppliers.
